About Thaodra Workneh
Psychotherapist and Clinical Counsellor providing trauma‑informed, culturally sensitive therapy
My Approach
I offer client-centered care in a safe, supportive, and culturally sensitive environment that nurtures your growth and honors your unique life experience.

Creating an inclusive and accessible space is central to my practice. I offer sessions in both English and አማርኛ (Amharic), and I provide sliding scale and low-fee options when available.
I offer individual psychotherapy (ages 17 and up), couples therapy, and relationship therapy, each tailored to support your unique needs, goals, and lived experiences.
Client-Centered Care
I believe that each individual holds the wisdom and capacity to navigate life's challenges. My role as a therapist is to support and facilitate the discovery of those inner insights - gently guiding you toward greater clarity, growth, and self-understanding. I am committed to meeting you where you are in your journey and working collaboratively to explore and find meaning in your experiences. Whether you're facing emotional distress, navigating relationships, or seeking personal growth, I strive to create a space where you feel seen, heard, and supported.
Safe & Supportive Environment
In our work together, I prioritize authenticity and connection, building relationships rooted in mutual trust, respect, understanding, and openness. My goal is to offer a safe and non-judgmental environment where you can feel secure in your therapeutic process. I tailor my approach to the unique needs of each client, grounding my work in evidence-based practices and a deep respect for your lived experience. I view therapy as a collaborative process of learning, growth, and development - one where I am continually committed to evolving alongside you.

Land Acknowledgement
As part of my commitment to ethical and compassionate care, I acknowledge that my practice is located in Tkaronto (Toronto), on the traditional territory of many Indigenous nations, including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat peoples. This land is covered by Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit.
For thousands of years, this land has been a place of gathering, healing, and connection. I honour the enduring presence of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples, and recognize the ongoing impacts of colonization - including within mental health and healthcare systems.
As a psychotherapist, I am committed to providing care rooted in respect, cultural humility, and a continual willingness to listen, learn, and unlearn. This land acknowledgement is one small step in a lifelong journey toward truth, reconciliation, and justice.
